• Our SEL-based stories help families and classrooms effectively apply knowledge of feelings, skills in managing them, establishing & maintaining respectful relationships, and learning to set and achieve their goals, all in a fun and beneficial way. help families and classrooms effectively apply knowledge of feelings, skills in managing them, establishing & maintaining respectful relationships, and learning to set and achieve their goals, all in a fun and beneficial way.

By addressing the whole child/whole person through an SEL-based approach with an awareness of brain development, children can learn to thrive in life with emotional intelligence, connectedness, self- confidence, and respect for themselves and others.

  • Reading aloud together is essential for children to succeed as readers, but Hippocampus Clubhouse takes it further with cognitive play. Our engaging storytelling paired with interactive, cognitively-focused activities assist children in developing their reading abilities by participating in multi-sensory, critical thinking play.

As they complete an activity, their comprehension skills improve naturally as the story’s lesson permeates & absorbs deeper than the read-aloud alone. Children connect with the characters they’ve met, reflect on how the story made them feel, and openly discuss how they can apply the story’s message to their own lives.

  • With over 190 million people in the US alone enjoying a story read aloud, the magic of storytime is for all. The benefits of expanding a child's love for literacy and social & emotional development are just as powerful.

Whether you are a parent who wishes to jazz up your playdates, a local library looking to level up storytime, or a camp, day care or elementary school needing to add more SEL-based development and support to your curriculum, we have the right program for you!

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

"I love listening to the Hippocampus Clubhouse podcast. My favorite thing besides the stories is when I get to hear the kids like me talking as a guest on Storytime Voices. And I also like how Erin reads the stories and that she says to 'get comfy cozy' before the stories start. It's really fun!"

- Lily, Age 8 (Adventurer)

"I wish Hippocampus Clubhouse was around when I was a child. My 5-year-old daughter prefers it over screen time which says A LOT. Her favorite part is listening to the guest speakers (who are kids her age!) introduce the book they love and be interviewed as to why. Then we both disappear into the magical way Erin reads each story. I've become dependent on Erin and can't thank her enough for putting these incredible thought-provoking books on our radar. They have started conversations I knew were important to discuss with my daughter, but I didn't know how to approach them in a kid-friendly and fun way. Our family is so grateful for this storytime, and I'm thrilled to find a safe podcast that allows me to take a break for myself without the use of screentime. We love Hippocampus Clubhouse!"

- Natalie C., Parent

"Erin tells the stories really happily, and the voices are funny. I like the stories in Spanish, too, because I like to hear both because I speak both at home. Erin came to my class and read us a book about builders with cardboard. We learned why cardboard is so strong and that its type of paper is corrugated. It’s got three pieces of paper, not just one piece, and they are helping each other to be strong. It’s why we need to help each other and work together as a team, so we can all be stronger together.”

- Oliver, Age 6 (Explorer)

"I was blown away when we had Hippocampus Clubhouse come to our class for a story & booktivity. I expected a basic read-aloud for the students while I focused on grading papers. Instead, we received a storytime that had me mesmerized right along with my students! Erin's ability to make the story come to life and connect with the students while encouraging them to engage with each other was magical. You can tell she really loves being with the children. They loved the activity, and I was impressed that they all worked together as a team. We still have the murals they created and I can't wait to have Erin back again soon. I highly recommend Hippocampus Clubhouse and Erin's Storytime & Booktivity Experience!"

- Ms. Paris, 3rd Grade

Erin was a pleasure to have in our class! The students loved having her as the guest reader, and enjoyed the activity. Erin also asked insightful questions while reading the book that kept the students engaged and thinking deeper and creatively about the topic. Thank you for coming out and having a great discussion with the students!
